Who is He and What is He?

“The Martian” is a short story by Ray Bradbury about a shape shifting alien that takes on the qualities that those around him want to see. It, like so many of Bradbury’s stories, gets at the heart of what it means to be truly human by way of the indirect path of the fantastic imagination.
